TAY winner of Halesowen College Employer Awards 2023

The Art Yard team were delighted to learn they are winners of the Art & Design Employer of the Year 2023 awarded by Halesowen College.


Karen and Harry representing the team attended the presentation ceremony that began with canapes and fizzy drinks in the reception area of the Bistro at Halesowen College on Thursday, 13th July 2023. Both were amazed by the feedback that work experience students had provided to college lecturers about their time spent on placement at The Art Yard gallery.


Those attending heard from Joanne Williams, Interim Principal and from James Morris MP about the value put of the experiences that students gain through being placed in various working environments.

Midland Film and Art

 

Midland Film and Art is a membership club where people can enjoy screenings of films or view artwork and crafts that would otherwise not be shown in mainstream cinemas or exhibitions, or be available locally. These shows usually have an educational aim, introducing new audiences to different audiovisual works through screening and display, encouraging participation in arts and crafts. A common feature that may characterize a Midland Film and Art meeting is that they either begin with an introduction to the audience and/or end with the promotion of a discussion about the film/art, where assistants, organizers and sometimes the filmmakers/artists themselves, exchange their views.
