SPOTLIGHT AWARDS 2023

Congratulations to all of The Art Yard team of volunteers who have been recognised for their voluntary service in the community by Dudley CVS with the presentation of a Spotlight Award (2023).


MFAA Chairman Warren John McCabe-Smith received the award together with club Treasurer Harry Bloomer at the AGM of Dudley CVS held at Brierley Hill Civic Hall on Thursday, 19th October 2023. Warren and Harry were joined at the event by TAY volunteer Kieran Mills (photographer) who helped the DCVS communications team in taking pictures during the evening event.


Warren said, "So deserved. The Art Yard is unique as far as I know. It's community, art, creativity, totally inclusive, and both professional; and amateur at the same time".

Midland Film and Art

 

Midland Film and Art is a membership club where people can enjoy screenings of films or view artwork and crafts that would otherwise not be shown in mainstream cinemas or exhibitions, or be available locally. These shows usually have an educational aim, introducing new audiences to different audiovisual works through screening and display, encouraging participation in arts and crafts. A common feature that may characterize a Midland Film and Art meeting is that they either begin with an introduction to the audience and/or end with the promotion of a discussion about the film/art, where assistants, organizers and sometimes the filmmakers/artists themselves, exchange their views.
