Social Prescribing Contract Award

As part of the 'Spring Into Action' arts programme managed by Dudley Council for Voluntary Service we have been commissioned to deliver a series of Thursday afternoon art sessions to reduce social isolation.

The sessions will be delivered for MFAA by Alex Burgess working from The Art Yard gallery in Cradley Heath.

Social Prescribing link workers will forward referrals to the gallery where Alex will engage the participants in a range of introductory art sessions from pencil drawing, to draftsman ship, use of crayons, watercolour, colour and shapes, pastels, chalk and on the acrylic art.

Congratulation to Alex for winning such a prestigious assignment.

Midland Film and Art

Midland Film and Art is a membership club where people can enjoy screenings of films or view artwork and crafts that would otherwise not be shown in mainstream cinemas or exhibitions, or be available locally. These shows usually have an educational aim, introducing new audiences to different audiovisual works through screening and display, encouraging participation in arts and crafts. A common feature that may characterize a Midland Film and Art meeting is that they either begin with an introduction to the audience and/or end with the promotion of a discussion about the film/art, where assistants, organizers and sometimes the filmmakers/artists themselves, exchange their views.
