Meet Our New Resident Artists

The Art Yard has 2 new resident artists.


Many of you will already know Mark Holloway who regularly attends our portrait art sessions. Mark lives in Netherton and has over 30 years experience as an art educator and designer.


Rebecca McCartney will share one of our 1st floor studios with Mark. She is married and lives with her family in Halesowen. Rebecca is also an experienced art teacher and is proficient in various mediums such as; watercolour, acrylic, graphite and charcoal. She is a very capable artist who integrates various styles and methods in her own art practice.


The Art Yard team welcome both artists to the gallery and hope you visit the gallery and get to know them.

Midland Film and Art

 

Midland Film and Art is a membership club where people can enjoy screenings of films or view artwork and crafts that would otherwise not be shown in mainstream cinemas or exhibitions, or be available locally. These shows usually have an educational aim, introducing new audiences to different audiovisual works through screening and display, encouraging participation in arts and crafts. A common feature that may characterize a Midland Film and Art meeting is that they either begin with an introduction to the audience and/or end with the promotion of a discussion about the film/art, where assistants, organizers and sometimes the filmmakers/artists themselves, exchange their views.
