Easel Life

A successful Easel Life session took place at TAY on Sunday, January 19th 2020.

The first Easel Life was organised by John Lloyd as a progression of his fortnightly 'drop-in' life group meetings and following calls from local artists who want more time to complete their life drawing and painting. The 4 hour session was held in the middle TAY gallery with model Sophie Rose and 6 artists.

John said, "There has been a great demand from artists wanting to join the Easel Life session but unfortunately as space is limited I could only run the pilot session with 6 artists. However, the positive outcomes clearly demonstrate a thirst for similar opportunities to be given and I am determined to create more future events."

John went on to explain that completed artwork from Easel Life will be exhibited at the 'That's Life' exhibition between 3rd and 8th of February at TAY with a private viewing on the evening of Monday, 3rd February.

John added, "I have invited TAY's regular life artists and those who attend the Coach House and General Office to exhibit their work during That's Life and hope to put on an impressive showcase.:

Midland Film and Art

Midland Film and Art is a membership club where people can enjoy screenings of films or view artwork and crafts that would otherwise not be shown in mainstream cinemas or exhibitions, or be available locally. These shows usually have an educational aim, introducing new audiences to different audiovisual works through screening and display, encouraging participation in arts and crafts. A common feature that may characterize a Midland Film and Art meeting is that they either begin with an introduction to the audience and/or end with the promotion of a discussion about the film/art, where assistants, organizers and sometimes the filmmakers/artists themselves, exchange their views.
