MFAA receives the first Rowley Regis Community Project Award
MFAA volunteers at The Art Yard were chosen to receive the first Community Project Award for the Rowley Regis area at a ceremony held at The Plaza, Old Hill on Wednesday, February 8th 2019. The award was given for making a real difference in the lives of people in Rowley Regis.
The awards are given by Sandwell MBC and the Sandwell Community Hub in recognition of people and organisations who they believe 'go the extra mile' to benefit local communities.
The issuing of the award came as a complete surprise to MFAA members who were secretly nominated by officers working in the community of Rowley Regis for Sandwell council. Our volunteers later learnt that later they were chosen to receive the award by a panel of local businesses working together with council officers.
Martyn Harris , MFAA Secretary, who attended the award ceremony said, "We are particularly honoured to receive the first of these awards in recognition of the progress that MFAA volunteers have made since moving our Head Quarters from Stourbridge to The Art yard in Cradley Heath. which is part of Rowley Regis. Managing the gallery and studios at The Art Yard has been challenging but it is good to see our focus remains on developing community art in all of its forms, which we are proud to continue."
