Graphic Design Student Begins Work Placement
As part of a new collaboration involving working with Halesowen College its first student began a work experience placement with The Art Yard on Monday, February 2nd 2018.
Yang Hang is a 17 year old Graphic Design Extended Diploma student with a large impressive portfolio of life sketches. She lives outside of the West Midlands which requires her to spend some time each day travelling back and forth by coach or train. Yang began her week's placement by being 'pushed in at the deep end' by her TAY placement manager, Harry Bloomer. In the morning she helped to draft out the first part of what will later become TAY's press release about the forthcoming March 2018 exhibition of art by Ewart Chapman and in the afternoon she was invited by Diane to choose and photograph her favourite portraits from our present exhibition. She then uploaded the images in a post to TAY's Instagram account.
Yang has a full week of work experiences ahead of her that will include helping to direct and shoot a short poetry movie entitled 'Pride of The Black Country'.
TAY team look forward to building further and closer links to the college going forward.
