'Moustaches' Art Exhibition

Moustaches Exhibition By Wozart

AFTER losing two family members to cancer this year, a member of

MFAA put his craft to good use in their honour. On September 11 his sister lost her husband to a brain tumour after just one year of being married to him. Then on October 16 Warren's mother lost her sister to a brain tumour, so in just over five weeks his family lost two close loved ones to cancer.

Inspired by Movember, Warren McCabe-Smith spent several months created drawings and paintings with moustaches on them to raise money towards Cancer Research UK.

The artwork included portraits of famous tash wearers Tom Selleck, Burt Reynolds, Ron Burgundy, Salvador Dali, Freddie Mercury, Charlie Chaplin and Poirot, among others.

The specially created pieces of moustached art was on display at Scary Canary The Venue, in Stourbridge High Street, on Monday November 30th 2015 and over £350 was raised on the night.

Midland Film and Art

Midland Film and Art is a membership club where people can enjoy screenings of films or view artwork and crafts that would otherwise not be shown in mainstream cinemas or exhibitions, or be available locally. These shows usually have an educational aim, introducing new audiences to different audiovisual works through screening and display, encouraging participation in arts and crafts. A common feature that may characterize a Midland Film and Art meeting is that they either begin with an introduction to the audience and/or end with the promotion of a discussion about the film/art, where assistants, organizers and sometimes the filmmakers/artists themselves, exchange their views.
