Ommer 'n' Spake Day

Volunteers from Midland Film and Art helped organise and present an afternoon of Black Country fun and entertainment at Mushroom Green Chainshop. The event ran alongside Black Country Day 2014. Hollybush Dave provided a barrel of beer whilst Luke Perry and co, invited guests to ommer a link of chain in memory of loved ones. Renowned performers entertained dozens of people in the crowds that gathered with Black Country based music, song, poetry and the spoken word. Fran Wilde from Cradley Heath Creative did a great job of organising the Ommer 'n' Spake day and it was compered by Midland Films and Art volunteer Harry Bloomer. A bostin afternoon was had by all. Highlights are in the video below shot and edited by one our volunteers.

Midland Film and Art

Midland Film and Art is a membership club where people can enjoy screenings of films or view artwork and crafts that would otherwise not be shown in mainstream cinemas or exhibitions, or be available locally. These shows usually have an educational aim, introducing new audiences to different audiovisual works through screening and display, encouraging participation in arts and crafts. A common feature that may characterize a Midland Film and Art meeting is that they either begin with an introduction to the audience and/or end with the promotion of a discussion about the film/art, where assistants, organizers and sometimes the filmmakers/artists themselves, exchange their views.
